The Retired Greyhound Trust's search for the Ultimate Dog Coat returns for its second year.
The hunt for a young fashion designer to help the RGT create the 'Ultimate Dog Coat' will be officially launched in April.
Again, the winning creation will be made into a real coat and paraded at the Trust's annual show - the Great Greyhound Gathering - at Nottingham Race Course in September.
Professional dog coat designer Laura Bailey from national doggy design house Petite Pooch will be on the judging panel again this year and will transform the design into a coat.
The competition will be open to two age groups - six and under and seven to 11. We will have regional winners in each age group from Scotland, Wales, North East, North West, Yorkshire, West Midlands and Shropshire, East Midlands, East of England, London and the South East, the South, South West and Jersey. The overall winner's design will become the Ultimate Dog Coat 2010. The closing date for entries will be Friday 31 July 2010.
Ivor Stocker, from the Retired Greyhound Trust, said: "Ultimate Dog Coat was such as success last year that we will be bringing it back for its second year in 2010.
"The competition caught the imagination of a many of the RGT branches last year - from the North West taking entry forms into Brownie packs and Merseyside setting up special colouring tables for kids next to their stand at shows to Greyhound Homer RGT giving out prizes for designs from youngsters in their local area and Perry Barr getting their kids club involved. We hope that even more branches will get actively involved next year," he added.
Last year's competition attracted more than 200 entries from June to September around the country.
Though the competition does not officially launch until April you can download an entry form right now. See Terms and Conditions below.
