Jack

Branch: RGT Head Office
Born: 2004. Sex: Male. Colour: Brindle.

Description

Jack is a beautiful blue brindle boy who came to the Greyhound Lifeline branch of the Trust in July 2008.  He only had a short racing career at Mildenhall and Peterborough, having last raced on 12th September 2007.

He has developed an auto immune disease:  in simple terms Jack’s body rejects his toe nails - they fall off.  There is no cure and the condition will affect him for the rest of his life.  We believe Jack’s supplements and medication now have the disease sufficiently under control that Jack is able to once again lead a perfectly normal life.

He is great with people and has quite a fan club at the kennels, but his previous pain means he has developed a terror of anyone going near his feet. He is also uncomfortable around other dogs and can show signs of fear aggression.  For these reasons we have to rule out a family with children because we know Jack will defend himself if he feels some is going to touch his feet.

We know somewhere there is a loving home that will show Jack the understanding he needs:  fingers crossed it won’t be too long.

Born:  03 April 2004, Ireland
Racing name:  Coolready Jack
